Handcyclists who race in a kneeling position, using arms and trunk, e.g. with bilateral leg amputations and full trunk control.
H5 athletes race in a kneeling position rather than lying back, which lets them add trunk and even hip movement to the arm-powered cranking. This class typically includes riders with full arm and trunk function and impairment of the legs, such as double leg amputees. The kneeling position makes H5 the most powerful and least impaired handcycle class.
